Dr. Jeckyl ---- Mr. Hyde

Dinnertime... What a happy time for Samuel. Well - anytime that food is involved this kiddo is happy. He oohs and coos and claps his hands as he shoves handfuls of food into his mouth. Some of his favorites are green beans, peas, bananas or really anything that you will give him... I love this little Sammy - it sure doesn't take much to make him smile.

This is what happens when you say "all gone"... The boy transforms into a stranger - someone or something from a foreign land that is coming after me with a vengeance. Veins are popping, tears are flowing and some of the most dramatic screaming occurs until you refill his tray. I dread the "end" of dinner. The rest of our family has to eat as fast as we possibly can because if we don't the little "Sergeant" grunts and lunges after our plates.
He sure looks like he's starving... Doesn't he?

Spagetti Face

My parenting may come in to question here.... No - I rarely wipe his face and yes I did feed him spaghetti for dinner. But my goodness he's cute! There are so many emotions that go with being a mom. On one hand, I love to watch him grow but on the other - I mourn my baby.

Drew is definitely a very special boy. Not only is he my first born son but he was blessed with a golden personality. You never know what you will get from day to day and this makes him unique.

Weeeddddyyyyy Garden!!!!

We took Drew outside today to check the garden. Brandon has been pretty busy with work lately so it is full of weeds. Those weeds haven't kept the vegetables from growing!

Here is our first tomato. We can't wait for those big plump, red juicy things to ripen! If we get enough, I may even take a stab at making fried green tomatoes!!! We'll see how that goes - I don't really cook but now that we have the boys I feel like I have this "motherly obligation" to learn.

What is this? Maybe squash or zucchini??? Either way - I love them both.

Here's some of our corn coming up.... Look at all those weeds! Poor Brandon!

Once again, there he is - explaining this whole garden process in detail. Drew usually has some pretty interesting questions. Truth be told - he is most interested in the pumpkins. It will be a while on those!

Here's our pear tree! They're getting bigger! I can't wait for those either - Samuel will be in heaven!

Jessica & James got Married!

Beautiful bride, beautiful ceremony and one awesome reception! Jessica and James were married at St. Mary's of the Knobs Catholic Church.

Here is the Mother of the bride fixing the flowers right before the ceremony. I wonder what she was thinking about? Who knows how I will be when one of my babies leaves my nest to get married. I'll probably be a mess!

This was the first dance... They looked so happy to start their lives together!

Father's Day recap....

Drew made this really cool gift for his daddy! It was a bag full of peanuts... One thing is true, Drew is nuts about his daddy and this was a perfect Father's Day gift!

This guy showed up and reminded me of my papaw. It was kinda like he just wanted to float by to let us know that he was with us. My eyes filled with tears for a second. I miss him and I know that my mom misses him on Father's Day.

Relapse...

Pay attention to the boy with a circle around his head...

On the very same day that he got to ride a real school bus on a field trip... He picked his nose and ate it ON CAMERA! Poor guy, I guess all the excitement caused him to fall off the wagon!

Drew's First Field Trip.... Huber's

It was his first field trip and most importantly - his first trip on a real yellow school bus. He was beyond excited about this big event! Brandon went with him - I really was a tad bit jealous but I had way too much going on at work!

The above photo is of him on the bus. Brandon took these pics... I'm really not sure what kind of face Drew was making. It is a new one to me.

Here are a few of the kiddos sitting on some kind of concrete animal. Drew doesn't look very interested does he? Knowing him, he'd probably rather be picking his nose.

Here he is on the "John Deere Tractor".... That's what he called it anyway. He takes driving seriously.... I really hope he's that serious about it when he turns 16!

They let the whole class go down that slide TOGETHER!!! I guess they know what they're doing. My mother works there and my husband was a chaperon so surely to goodness if those children were in danger - one of them would have intervened. *** Note - Drew knocked his teeth out at school while reaching for MY MOTHER!

Here are all the little "darlins" together. They sure do have it together ---- don't they?
Overall - Drew baby is still super stoked about his trip! I just wish that Brandon would have had someone snap a photo of them together. Oh yeah, Brandon had the honors of taking all of the little boys to the potty! There was no time for family photos!

My view on family....

Just for the record, I don't regularly watch the show but I am seriously sad about Jon & Kate + 8. Their kiddos need them. I feel that those two have exploited their kids by plastering their faces all over the world and now they have done the unthinkable by airing their dirty laundry for the whole world to see.

People always say what they "would do" if their partner were to stray - so I'm not trying to judge them for any decisions that they make in their marriage BUT - I feel like they owe it to their children to stay together and make it work.

My husband means the world to me. Yesterday was Father's day and there were so many moments where I would look at Brandon and the boys and thank God for making me so deserving of such a wonderful family. We don't have a lot of money or fine "things" but what we do have is each other and if we are rich in anything it is LOVE. I can only pray that my boys will always know that their parents are a package deal and that we will lean on each other when times get tough.

We are fortunate for both of our parents to be married. Granted, I'm sure both sets have had their own trials and tribulations (I can definitely speak for my parents) but they loved us enough to set a good example - and through their actions taught us how to be a strong family.

This is what I want for Jon & Kate. I don't want to see their kids turn out to be drug addicted child celebrities. Through their actions, they need to work through this for those 8 children that didn't ask to be here.

Drew is having some behavior issues as school - and Brandon and I have vowed to work very hard to lead him down the right path. I want my kids to be kind, loving people - I want them to hold all people with the same regard that they would hold a member of our own family. Our kids are our responsibility - I hope that Jon and Kate realize this for themselves.
As I type this, I feel a certain level of guilt for judging them - but at as I stated earlier; those children are THEIR responsibility and THEY made the decision to paste their innocent little faces all over the world.

I love My Dad...

My dad worked really hard to take care of us when we were growing up. I just have to say that I love him and on this Father's Day - I am going to make an extra effort to tell him just how much I love him!

Having raised two girls, I think that it is obvious that he is ecstatic to have two grandsons!b

Sammy is kinda crazy about him too!

So I had a yardsale...

Everything maternity - everything baby went out in my front yard today!

Well, we only had about 7 or 8 customers for all of that stuff!

Lucky for me, I had a couple of big items.....

The scrapbooking stuff did not go over as well as I had anticipated.

Neither did the maternity clothes....
I did make $137!!! Next weekend, I'm going to take another stab and have it at my moms in Louisville... The stuff will go like hotcakes.

Hi..... I'm Stevie & I'm a Hoarder....

OMG..... Here is the evidence...

It is definitely a big problem...

Trying to think of ways to deal with it.

See that - That is like thousands of dollars worth of scrap booking supplies!

Here is a pretty flower -to brighten your day:)

A Day with Elaine and more....

Yesterday, Drew was sent home from school with a fever of 102. Turns out, it was just and ear infection. Needless to say, he couldn't go to daycare so we called Elaine Jacobi to ask if she could watch him today. She was so kind to let him tag along with her today! Apparently, they did some shopping!

She bought him these shoe which he freakin LOVES - he made me keep the lights off in the restroom while he went potty so that he could see them light up.

She also must have heard that Drew loves water guns... Besides eating boogers and playing tee-ball shooting water guns is like his favorite activity. We shoot off the deck almost every night!

He's not allowed to point the guns at any people. He does like to point them straight up in the air and see how far he can shoot.

Here is his arsenal! He's very proud of it! He already told me that he would prefer to go to Elaine and Jessica's house instead of school. I'm sure it is pretty fun over there. I hear she has all the batman toys in the world.
Thanks for a GREAT day Elaine!!

More birds.... I know you're happy. This sparrow has his head stuck in the feeder trying to eat as much seed as possible...

He's full now - maybe he'll go take a nap. I think he may be afraid to leave his post in case that crazed/confused squirrel comes back and tries to steal all of the food. I don't blame him - I don't like it when people steal my food either.

Here's our pretty friend with the red stripe on his back. I think he's been grandfathered in to our family. We do have a "slight" obsession with watching these guys. I'll probably buy a few more feeders this weekend and hang them around the rest of the yard. Maybe I can start a hummingbird refuge.

Here is Samuel - showing his sister some love. I love this! Mollie is so good with these kids. She is always watching over them. I guess she doesn't trust me to watch him in the bath tub so she stands there the whole time. She does occasionally drink the water - Sam doesn't mind!

Goodnight from Samuel! Oh and Mollie - she'll probably sleep by his door! Let us know if you need a babysitter - she's cheap - really cheap.

More Water Fun....

Here he goes! Probably letting all of the other kids know that he's going down!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! He loved the splash!

Man that was fun!! He went down over and over and over again!

These were from the weekend before last. Drew had so much fun on that frog slide. I'm so glad that he is becoming more comfortable with the water!
